Fulcrum has designed a range of 4x4 kits to suit a variety of applications. Consideration should be given to the use of the vehicle (eg recreational, work vehicle, heavy use) to determine which of the types of kits listed are suitable for the application.
Fulcrum Suspensions specialise in tailoring suspension systems to the customers requirements and where a customers application does not suit any kit shown, simply contact us for the right advice.
Enhancement Kits for ANY MODE
Designed primarily for the recreational user or the customer after a
suspension improvement / upgrade to the original system. The system can
change the height and will provide an improvement in ride control.

Performance Kits for ANY ROAD
The next step up from the Enhancement kit. They will suit the

Load Kits for ANY LOAD
For constant rear load applications. Typical users would be building

generally sit the vehicle above original ride height.

LOAD KIT STEEL BAR AND WINCH suits an application combining the
heavy rear load with constant heavy load bearing accessories on the
front of the vehicle. This is typically a heavy steel bar and winch and
possibly extra battery

EFS
EFS has designed and developed high quality suspension components, from shackles to leaf springs, to combat Australia’s harsh off road conditions. These products give the benefits of comfort, durability and long life. The EFS range is under constant development utilizing sponsored competition vehicles in testing.
Torsion Bars
EFS Torsion Bars are Heavy Duty replacement bars for use when the owner has fitted load-bearing accessories to the vehicle or the original torsion bars have sagged through years of use. Most bars are a larger diameter than the original although some are the same diameter but made from higher quality material.
Leaf Springs
EFS Leaf Springs are made from high quality Japanese grade SUP9 & SUP9a Alloyed Carbon spring steel. Designed as a comfort Leaf Spring that incorporates special features to give the driver a comfortable ride on road, and increased control off road with increased articulation and clearance. The springs have increased spring rates over the original equipment.
Monroe Shock Absorbers
The Gas-Magnum TDT series is gas charged and specifically designed for off road use. The Monroe Gas-Magnum TDT (16 series) is engineered to take the knocks and produce maximum damping response under 4x4 applications, with minimal fading in harsh conditions; whilst on city roads smoothing out the constant acceleration and braking and reducing sway while providing fast response when needed. This rugged shock absorber is ideal for most 4WD vehicles and light commercials.
Bilstein Shock Absorbers
A Mono Tube Shock Absorber designed to withstand the most severe conditions in off-roading. Offers traditional Bilstein technology for the utmost in consistent fade-free performance and long life. Bilstein’s patented digressive self-adjusting valving delivers improved damping control and a smooth ride on all road surfaces at any speed. Bilstein Shock Absorbers for most 4x4’s are 46 mm bore Mono Tube High Pressure Gas Shock Absorbers designed to withstand the most severe conditions that are encountered when four wheel driving. Their gas pressure design eliminates any possibility of shock absorber fade due to oil foaming and their high standard of construction means the owner will receive many years of reliable use from them. Most designs are standard length due to the mono tube construction.
KONI Heavy Track® shock absorbers are simple to adjust. This means that the damping characteristic can be completely adapted to the circumstances. With their robust construction and high quality materials used, such as the seals which are resistant to high temperatures, this allows the customer to tune their suspension for long life. The majority of Koni Shock Absorbers listed are Big Bore Twin Tube design. The advanced design of Koni twin tube shocks and their large oil capacity means they seldom suffer fade or overheating. The adjustable rebound valve design is a bonus to customers fitting heavy duty springs to their vehicle, as the Koni shock can be fine tuned to suit springs and load.
RAW Nitro
Raw Nitro Shock Absorbers come in a 35mm Bore Gas design and have gained a reputation of being a very dependable shock absorber. The 4x4 Shock Absorber have a 35mm Bore Nitrogen Gas charged expanded body for increased oil volume, high temperature multi lip seal, recoil cut-off giving ride comfort and control both on and off road. They have Super Pro bushings for long life and shock absorber control accuracy, double welded eyes, extreme temperature resistant oil and developed on an innovative dampening control graph. All Raw Nitro Shock Absorbers are designed, tested and developed in Australia. Most will suit long travel applications.
RAW Nitro Max (Twin Tube)
Large 41mm 4x4 Bore Shock Absorber with Nitrogen Gas Cell technology include high temperature oil and quality Viton Seals to provide extreme performance and heavy duty applications. A nitrogen gas cell shock absorber using a 70mm body (some applications maybe smaller due to mounting constraints) and 41mm bore with high temperature seals, the RAW Nitro Max is a maximum performance 4x4 shock absorber ideal for both performance and heavy duty applications.
RAW Nitro Max (Mono Tube)
The Nitro Max mono tube strut has been designed for the modern 4wd
vehicle with a coil over shock absorber front suspension. A mono tube
is best suited for this application for heat dissipation as these shock
absorbers are usually short and operate on a small stroke. Using a
large 46mm bore places less stress on the internal components of the
shock absorber providing a controlled and comfortable ride.
RAW Big Bore Dampers
35mm expanded body design Steering Dampers ideal for use in extreme conditions. An excellent finishing touch to your tailored system also including an increased oil capacity Gas Bag Technology, all adding to give smooth steering control. RAW Big Bore steering dampers are ideal for use on any 4x4 that has inherent wheel vibration problems or for use in extreme conditions. They feature a 35mm bore size providing large oil capacity, double welded mounts, and 1 piece eyerings.
Polyair Airbag
The Polyair Springs suspension system is designed to aid vehicles with differing variance and load requirements with simple addition or removal of air pressure by the driver. Whether carrying heavy loads, towing a caravan, or driving on rough roads, Polyairs can be adjusted to meet the exact load requirements and road conditions.
Polyair Springs Red Bag Series
Engineered as an add-on helper spring for both coil and leaf spring suspensions. Typical load support is 450kgs maximum.
Polyair Springs Bellows Series
Available for a limited range of leaf spring applications, the system is designed to support big loads. Typical load support is 2200kg maximum.
SuperPro 4x4 Polyurethane Bushings
Incorporating the best solutions in 4x4 for all specifications, these innovative bushing designs are manufactured in Australia from the highest grade polyurethane to provide ride comfort, articulation and precision alignment correction.
Super Pro Polyurethane Bushings are made from the highest grade polyurethane available resulting in an extremely durable material with the best features of rubber and plastic. Shackle bushes incorporate bullet grooves and tangential grease grooves allowing the bush to work in all conditions with reduced NVH (noise, vibration, harshness). Shackle Bushing kits are listed in the Fulcrum 4x4 Catalogue where there is a kit to fit the complete leaf spring pack (ie: top and bottom swinging shackle bushings and fixed pin bushings). Radius Arm, Trailing Arms and Panhard rod bush kits are also included for Land Rover, Toyota and Nissan Coil Spring Vehicles.
Fulcrum has further extended the already extensive range of SuperPro polyurethane bushings currently available with development of front camber correction kits for the new Toyota Hilux. The new SuperPro kit is installed into the upper inner control arm to rectify the excessive positive camber that is produced by raising the vehicle. This in turn allows the lower control arm adjusting pins to be concentrated on for more caster adjustment, which when integrated with better camber angels will add to straight line stability, increase the tyre life and give better traction.
For a more complete reference please consult the SuperPro Catalogue. Fulcrum recommend shackles and pins be replaced when there is any rust or wear evident, to optimize the life expectancy of the bushings.
All SuperPro bushings are warranted to the original purchaser for a period of: 36 months / 60,000 kms. Excludes Mine use and overloaded vehicles.
Shackle/U-Bolt
All Shackles and Pins are greasable (where possible) and all fitments are plated or powder coated to protect against corrosion. “U” bolts are all Heavy Duty construction and plated to resist corrosion. Always tighten “U” bolts to the manufacturers tolerance and re-tighten after 1000 kms. Fulcrum recommends the replacement of shackle hangers and pins whenever there is rust or wear evident. New U bolts must be fitted whenever Leaf Springs are replaced to cover the leaf spring warranty.
Lowering Your 4WD
Fulcrum Suspension in conjunction with TEIN Japan have developed a TEIN Super Street kit for the ever popular sports truck market to lower the new Hilux and Triton 4x4’s. This performance handling kit with height adjustable front struts will lower the vehicle 30-40mm to provide significantly reduced body roll and superior ride, comfort and handling. TEIN Super Street kit’s also allow for 16 settings of bump and rebound dampening adjustment so the vehicle can be customised to best suit the individual needs and driving conditions
