The Ultimate Tyre Wear Solution for the Isuzu D-Max, MU-X, and Mazda BT-50s.

If you own a late model Isuzu D-Max, MU-X, or Mazda BT-50, you're probably familiar with the frustrating bump steer issues that lead to excessive tyre wear. Whether you have a standard height vehicle, have lifted it or added accessories, bump steer can become a prominent problem. Until now, the only option to mitigate some of the excess tyre wear was regular wheel alignments. But this only mitigated the problem and never stopped the tyres of a Dmax, MUX or BT50 from wearing excessively.

But now, there's an innovative world-first solution developed by SuperPro specifically for the current generation (2020-On) D-Max, MU-X, and BT-50. The SuperPro Steering Knuckle (TRC6680), a groundbreaking product that directly bolts into the original mounting points of your vehicle. It has been e-coated for ultimate corrosion protection, ensuring durability and longevity.

This solution virtually eliminates bump steer when installed on a standard height or lifted vehicle, fixing tyre wear issues for the D-Max, MU-X, and BT-50.

Watch the below video to learn how SuperPro's new steering knuckle upgrade (TRC6680) can fix your tyre wear.

Why is bump steer such a concern?

Bump steer refers to the change in toe-in or toe-out as a vehicle's ride height changes. This constant oscillation occurs while driving, particularly when encountering bumps on the road. Factors such as towing, heavy loads, accessories, and suspension lifts amplify this movement, leading to premature tyre wear.

How does bump steer effect Tyre wear?

Bump steer has a significant impact on tyre wear. As a vehicle encounters bumps and uneven surfaces, the toe-in or toe-out alignment of the tyres changes due to the movement in the suspension. This constant variation in the steering geometry causes the tyres to scrub against the road surface, leading to uneven and accelerated tyre wear. The more pronounced the bump steer, the greater the strain on the tyres, resulting in premature wear and reduced lifespan. By addressing and reducing bump steer, such as with the SuperPro steering knuckle for the D-Max, MU-X, and BT-50. Owners can effectively minimize excessive tyre wear and ensure longer-lasting and more cost-effective tyre performance.

Here is an example of the inner tyre worn out on a DMAX due to bump steer issues.

How does the SuperPro steering knuckle help?

The SuperPro steering knuckle optimizes the steering geometry of your vehicle by relocating the outer tie-rod pickup point. This effectively reduces the amount of bump steer experienced at various ride heights. When installed on a lifted vehicle, the steering knuckle reduces overall bump steer by approximately 75%. Combining it with fixed upper control arms further reduces bump steer by an additional 10-15%. When fitted on a standard-height vehicle, bump steer is virtually eliminated.

Michael Sargent, store manager at Fulcrum Capalaba, worked closely with the SuperPro research and development team to test fit this revolutionary product. He attests, "We've witnessed a remarkable improvement in the vehicles we've tested the steering knuckle on." Word of this game-changing solution quickly spread among vehicle owners.

"The demand has been overwhelming. We have a backlog of customers eagerly waiting to have the steering knuckle fitted to their D-Max, some even since yesterday," says Michael. He adds, "Now that the product is officially released, we can finally address the bump steer issues our customers have been facing."

Michael understands the impact of excessive tyre wear on vehicle owners, saying, "People are well aware of how much they spend each year on replacing tyres due to this issue. They want a fix as soon as possible, especially with the rising cost of living."

Do I still need an Upper Control Arm Upgrade if I get this Steering Knuckle Upgrade?

For lifted vehicles, it's important to note that the Upper Control Arms are still recommended. As the vehicle is raised, the caster angle and camber angle undergo changes, and the Upper Control Arms address these adjustments. By combining the SuperPro Steering Knuckle with the Upper Control Arms, you can optimize your vehicle's performance, improve tyre wear, and achieve better driving dynamics. You do however still need the Steering Knuckle upgrade as the control arm will only fix camber and castor, but the steering knuckle fixes bump steer.

On the other hand, if you have a standard height D-Max, BT-50, or MU-X, the SuperPro Steering Knuckle alone provides a significant improvement in tyre wear and driving experience. This solution addresses the toe angle issue and eliminates scrubbing on the inside of the tires, ensuring longer-lasting and more cost-effective tire performance.
